Noise Can Be Managed in a Better Way Office space planning involves the right placement of equipment furniture and dividers in order to minimise noise where needed. In a call center for example interior designers will carry out a design that can give enough privacy in every workstation and ensure that the noise in one area does not affect other much. Although the noise levels in most offices are rarely damaging some tasks and work activities still need enough concentration that too much noise might interrupt. An effective design that places office equipment such as printers and faxes away from the staff can help prevent noise from affecting the productivity of employees.
While carpet is nice underfoot it is not always practical in an office setting. Many desk chairs have wheels for ease of movement. They do not work well on carpet. If your office is a high traffic area carpet mat also be difficult to keep looking clean and fresh. Hardwood is often a better choice of flooring for an office. Add an area rug for style colour or warmth. Wall colour choices are limitless. If your office is small or if there is not a lot of lighting in your office opt for a lighter or neutral wall colour. Larger well lit offices can look rich and warm with deeply coloured walls. If your office space does not have a lot of natural light be sure to install adequate lighting to avoid eye strain.
Citrus colors. Tangerine lime and similar shades energize and invigorate workers. If these hues are too bold for your walls try to incorporate brightly-colored upholstery art and signage. Office color trends may be fleeting but citrus accents should stay fresh for years to come. Natural materials. Think hardwood or bamboo floors earthy wall coverings corkboard and more. Bringing the outside in is the goal of many forward-thinking interior designers today. (Glass walls are great for this.) Plus naturally-sourced sustainable materials can be a green option for environmentally-conscious companies.
